Hello. Yes?
I'm Andy McFarland, a programmer. Currently working in London for state51. I work with music metadata, storage, audio encoding, website development, XML, complex persistent objects, etc.
My main acheivement at state51 is to extend the platform so that it rips and archives audio from CDs, scans and archives packshot images, parses and stores metadata from record labels, automatically edits and encodes audio to many formats, packages this in many different formats (many different custom schemas - save us DDEX!) and delivers it to 70+ Digital Music Services. We started delivering to the Apple iTunes Music Store back in September 2003 and we've not stopped yet.
Projects
I program for fun. I've tried to make some notes about the hacks I've made here.
