For years I’ve had a single “AKA” page on this domain. I thought I would update it and give myself a space to write some words. I wanted to be able to edit it from iOS, write in markdown, store it on github and have it publish itself on a git push. I also wanted to experiment with a static site generator and previous experience with jekyll made me want to look for something else.
This site is a set of markdown documents stored in a github repo. The repo has a webhook configured so that when I push, it calls out to a webhook on my hosted server. That server is listening to the webhook using a small application which calls some bash, which uses Hugo to regenerate the site.
- Edit the content in Working copy + git push
- Pull + regenerate from markdown to html using Hugo
- Serve using Nginx
